Job Purpose

We are seeking a Lead Well Intervention Engineer to join the JRAK Unconventional Production Engineering Division UPED of well completion Operations and Production Engineering Department WCO&PED.

JRAK UPED is responsible for providing required production engineering support for Jafurah unconventional field development, the support includes multistage hydraulic fracture design design, production optimization, well completion design, and artificial lift in addition to day to day engineering and operations support for field rigless activities. 

The Lead Well Intervention Engineer primary role is to provide required support for rigless well intervention operations (wireline, coiled tubing, snubbing) including but not limited to plug and perf frac operations, post frac wellbore coiled tubing cleanout, through tubing fishing and milling operations, wireline well and reservoir surveillance operations, well integrity survey and wellhead maintenance. 

Responsibilities

DUTY1 / effort % (025)
Leads and oversees the work of a group of engineers. Under this capacity, coordinates and ensures all related activities and tasks are efficiently completed.

DUTY2 / effort % (020)
Initiates and coordinates major petroleum engineering technical studies and activities, and determines engineering methods and procedures to be used.

Prepares reports on completed studies with recommendations and presentations to Management for feedback and endorsement.

DUTY3 / effort % (015)
Leads formulation of BP/OP plans for respective area.

DUTY4 / effort % (010)
Represents the organization in presentations to Executive Management in regard to new projects, new technologies or field development strategies.

DUTY5 / effort % (010)
Initiates proposals for projects to be conducted by service providers (vendors) and acts as a project’s liaison. In addition, follows up on the projects’ progression and ensures deliverables and objectives are fully met.

DUTY6 / effort % (010)
Oversees the development of annual/quarterly management reports.

DUTY7 / effort % (010)
Assists in developing IDPs including training and development plans for personnel in the group.

Education & Experience Requirements

Educational Level :Bachelors

Degree Title : Bachelor of Science

Discipline Title : Petroleum Engineering

Minimum Years of Experience :09
 

Experience in unconventional resources or HPHT/tight gas & oil well with a good understanding of hydraulic fracturing, and its impact on well completion

Proven record in running all interventions operations required in unconventional wells: Completion design, Tubing movements, Coiled tubing, Wireline, slick line, Hydraulic fracturing, flow back and capable of issuing a complete detailed program for each type of operation

Familiar with wellhead and downhole completion design, optimization, and troubleshooting

Proven records and experience in well surveillance activities for unconventional wells

Responsible for planning the well surveillance activities and for the review and validation when completed

Responsible for providing solution for wells with integrity issues with support of well completion specialist 

Extensive knowledge of industry regulations, safety practices and standards related to surface and downhole equipment selection

Experience in optimization of surface well intervention operation using latest new technologies and best practices

Support the routine well completion operation and provide support when problems occurs
