OU Description

Our Accounting Advisory Consulting team currently has exciting opportunities within its Accounting Advisory offering. Our team advises clients on a wide range of transactions, identifying issues and providing accounting options and solutions that meet our client’s objectives. We are looking for an ambitious and highly motivated accountant with a proven track record of high quality delivery of client projects, strong technical knowledge and experience with a commercially rounded mindset focusing on client requirements and needs and an ability to work in a demanding environment.

Roles & Responsibilities_x000D_

The role sits within a commercially focused technical accounting team in PwC, which will provide a fantastic development opportunity for the candidate to develop commercial focused accounting and reporting skills alongside the opportunity to work on a number of iconic accounting and reporting transformation projects. As a Manager, you will be required to assist the team leadership to deliver on iconic and complex accounting advisory engagements with a variety of clients. This will involve:

  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS, its practical and commercial applications to provide clients with advice that address their objectives.
  • Ability to conduct in depth research on complex accounting matters, prepare technical papers for discussion with senior team members and apply critical thinking.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision on the delivery of the project along with managing the client expectations and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to coach the team members and on-job training and management of small to large teams. 
  • Strong management skills as the delivery and management role may require working potentially on multiple projects requiring the ability to prioritise and manage tasks and commitments on these projects.
  • Interacting and developing relationships with key client staff and engaging in a professional and confident manner.
  • Develop and build positive relationships with both the client staff and internal PwC team members including with the other PwC lines of services (such as tax, legal, deals, etc.). This also includes developing understanding of the broader PwC offerings to the clients and ability to work closely with other lines of service to provide a seamless service across these offerings.
Skills and Competencies_x000D_
  • In-depth understanding of IFRS and general accounting principles.
  • Strong interest and passion for enhancing technical accounting skills.
  • Fluency in both English and Arabic. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). 
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the Middle East based on the project and client requirements.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team with a fast paced and a high energy that will translate into a high-quality output.
  • Excellent organizational skills, having the ability to prioritize workload whilst being resilient and being able to cope well under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to motivate and coach team members on the project and provide on-job training to the team.
  • Ability to coordinate with different lines of service within PwC.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications_x000D_

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business studies, accounting, or finance.
  • Certification in accounting: ACA, ACCA, CPA, or similar accounting certification.

 

Experience:

 

  • 5 – 7 years of audit or other relevant experience in a Big 4 firm.
  • Accounting Advisory / consulting experience is beneficial.
  • Experience in the GCC is beneficial.
