Overview

We are seeking a Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Monitoring and Diagnostic Analyst to join the Reliability & Asset Management Division of Power Systems Engineering Dept.

The Reliability & Asset Management Division is responsible for providing monitoring and Diagnostics of High Voltage assets that is operated or maintained by Power Systems. This function is targeting increase in power supply reliably and improvement in overall efficiently.

The T&D Monitoring and Diagnostic Analyst primary role is to monitor High Voltage assets in Saudi Aramco facilities using advanced artificial Intelligence (AI) – based analytical tools.

Duties & Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

Develop, maintain, and use advanced pattern recognition software models and associated data to detect pattern deviation in the operating behavior of power system equipment.

Perform daily monitoring of power system equipment that are covered by the APR tool.

Respond, evaluate and prioritize alarms generated by the APR tools and interact with power plant personnel to provide recommendations to optimize plant equipment and systems.

Communicate and interface with company Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to further assess equipment anomalies detected by the APR software.

Communicate detected anomalies to power system operator for further investigation at site.

Identify and classify associated risks to the assets by analyzing the data generated by the APR tools, provide recommendations to mitigate risks as proposed by the APR tool, and follow up to ensure implementation.

Monitor equipment performance and predict their health through analyzing the APR tools output, and alert the company SMEs about any risk of failure.

Master all aspects of the monitoring and diagnostic (M&D) center software tools including, but not limited to, APR tools. Continuously evaluate the adequacy of existing APR models.

Capture and quantify the software catches and the associated avoided costs to expose the value M&D center.

Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Data Science, or Computer Science from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree in the same field is preferred.

You will have ten years’ experience in the field or electrical power system engineering, including at least three years in monitoring and diagnostics or digitalization centers.

Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.

Degree or certification in the AI-based tools for pattern recognition application will be highly valued.

Five-Eight (5-8) years’ experience as a power Operation Engineer with the following skills:

Working experience on advanced condition based predictive diagnosis software applications.

  • Capability of analyzing assets data generated from analytical tools. 
    • Working experience on different condition monitoring and diagnostic technologies.
    • Strong working experience in power system equipment and field instrumentation.
    • Demonstrate high analytical capabilities
    • Familiar with Power system automation.
    • Demonstrate high analytical capabilities
    • Familiarity with OSI PI data historian.
    • Effective English communication and technical report writing skills.
