Saudi Aramco is seeking a Senior Completion Engineer to join the Exploration and Petroleum Engineering Advanced Research Center (EXPEC ARC). We are looking for professionals to conduct upstream research in the Advanced Completions Focus Area within the Production Technology Team. The position offers the opportunity to contribute in leading edge technology development in order to increase recovery, improve operational efficiency and reduce cost.
You will be responsible for Research & Development tasks, such as introducing completion technologies by identifying company needs, setting tool requirements, designing innovative solutions, managing product development collaborations, field testing new products and technology commercialization.
You will be required to perform the following:
Engage in multi-disciplinary teams to identify well completion challenges and provide solutions to fill the technology gaps. Initiate technology development proposals.
Design and draft different completion components, integrate with downhole completion systems, and model their performance in a given well.
Perform business case analysis for the need to develop new products. Run finite-element analysis and computational fluid dynamics on completion items. Analyze large datasets, preferably using ML codes.
Perform failure mode and effects analysis, fault tree analysis and tool reliability studies.
Install and trial test new technologies in the field. Implement full-scale deployment of high-impact technologies. Recommend new advanced completion techniques for horizontal and multi-lateral wells.
Write and publish technical papers and patent applications. Prepare and present technical talks to highly technical audience. Participate in technical societies and groups.
As a successful candidate, you
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline. Master’s or PhD degree is recommended.
Have A minimum of 10 years related experience with demonstrated skills design and Research &Development of well completions or equipment.
Have an intensive knowledge of horizontal and multi-lateral well architecture, completion and production procedures and technologies.
Have knowledge of well intervention methods, advanced completions packaging, product testing and qualification.
Have skills such as Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, reliability, metallurgy, nodal analysis, functional completion design, and intellectual property are a plus.
Have history of technical publications and patents.
