We are seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to join Saudi Aramco East West Pipelines Department (EWPD) to work with EWPD Compliance Team. EWPD Compliance group is responsible for ensuring that the department operations/activities are compliant with corporate safety standards, regulations and safety management guides in addition to the departmental safety management system.
We also explore and create initiatives to enhance and promote safety culture across the department workforce. In addition, EWPD Compliance team is responsible for tracking and monitoring the divisions safety performance, conduct analysis and generate action items to enhance safety performance.
Your primary role is to monitor EWPD safety performance and identify areas of improvement to be rectified through root cause analysis and generate recommendations for implementation.
You will be required to perform the following:
Assess and report employee and contractor compliance with Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements. Track and analyze Key Performance Indicators for performance improvement opportunities. Develop and conduct safety training. Provide advice and consultation to EWPD personnel to assist them in maintaining a safe working environment in compliance with environmental/safety regulations, standards and practices. Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace. Undertake surveys to identify and evaluate occupational health, safety and environmental conditions.
Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices. Provide advice and counsel concerning compliance with corporate safety regulation and procedures. Perform job site safety compliance inspections, including hazard analyses and safe work procedures, and prepare written reports and recommendations. Develop controls for identified hazards and coordinate the implementation. Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate work place incidents and injuries.
Prepare safety orientations, safety training and job site inspection procedures. Direct or assist in the development of specialized education and training materials. Conduct specialized safety and environmental training programs to communicate hazard control information. Assist new employee for occupational health, safety and environmental orientation. Host Safe Operations Committee meetings to share performance indicators with managements.
Review and analyze injury, property damage, and statistical loss data and work with management to prepare comprehensive recommendations for corrective action to eliminate or minimize potential hazards. Incorporate essential safety requirements in all purchasing and contracting actions. Maintain awareness of corporate safety and environmental requirements and make recommendations for their implementation. Assist management with monitoring adherence to department safety and environmental programs by employees and contractors.
As the successful candidate you must hold a Bachelor’s degree related to safety from a recognized and approved program. You should have minimum of 8 years of experience in safety related to oil and gas industry. You should have strong technical competence to establishing safety management procedure and guidelines. You should have the ability to lead incident investigation. You should be able to demonstrate knowledge of fire system, emergency preparedness, types of injuries, and Hazard recognition.
You should have good communication skills, both verbal and written (training/presentations/report writing). You should be skilled in the standards, concepts, analysis, practices, and procedures within the health, safety and environmental fields.
You must hold an international certificate in the field of safety such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) or National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH). Preferred to hold a Taproot certification.
