Overview

Mechanical Service Shops Department (MSSD) is offering multiple positions for an experienced Rotating Equipment Engineer to work in Abqaiq and Jeddah. As a rotating equipment engineer in MSSD, you will be performing hands on diagnoses, repairs and overhauls on various types of rotating equipment such as air instrument, steam turbines, gas compressors, gearboxes, single and multistage pumps and valves.

MSSD has state-of-the-art workshops and facilities that are driven by our most valuable asset, which is the department’s skilled and experienced workforce. Its primary responsibility is to maintain Saudi Aramco’s rotating and stationary equipment. The department plays a vital role in the company as it provides support to all field organizations by maintaining and repairing corporate equipment. Once qualified for the position you will be at the heart of one of the most advanced energy companies around the globe.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide technical supports to repair and overhaul of rotating equipment such as dismantling, diagnosing, assembling, testing and issue related technical reports.

Provide technical consultation to Shops Operating Repair Units and Contractor Shops.

 Support field installation, maintenance and repair of rotating equipment.

Troubleshoot, repair, modify existing equipment and Identify cost reductions & process improvements.

Ability to prepare design engineering packages of rotating equipment.

Preform technical investigation for shop repair return jobs to identify root cause of failure, corrective repair actions and lesson learned.

Introduce the latest technology in repair methodology.

Develop and revise department’s technical procedures and standards. 

Provide coaching and knowledge sharing to junior engineers, quality inspectors and technicians.

Provide technical input for purchasing specifications including technical proposal evaluation.

Liaise with Department engineers, Consulting Services Department (CSD), other Saudi Aramco Departments and manufacturers.

Liaise with In-House Repair Units, Quality Assurance units, In-Kingdom Contractors and vendor & manufacture in developing, evaluation, and implementing shop repair work scopes.

Participate in vendor and customer exchange meetings.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years’ hands on experience in Mechanical field as stipulated above under position description. Candidate must have the following the field experience requirements.

  1. Experience in the mechanical design, troubleshooting and major repair of oil and gas rotating equipment such as gas compressors, steam turbine and pump and gearbox.
  2. Experience on rotating equipment with original equipment manufacturing facility or equivalent certified repairing facility for steam turbines and gas compressors and diesel engines   
  3. Excellent English reading and writing
