Overview

We are seeking a Marine Technical Advisor I to join the Terminal Pilotage Operations Division.

The Terminal Pilotage Operations Division is responsible for providing professional pilotage service, vessel traffic management system and technical support services at all Saudi Aramco Oil Ports and Terminals in accordance with international shipping industry best practices.

Your primary role is to ensure that all safe practices are exercised and maintained on board vessels calling Saudi Aramco terminals and facilities, by carrying out top class vetting, inspections, audits, correspondences and marine assistance claims.

We are seeking a Marine Technical Advisor I to join the Terminal Pilotage Operations Division.

The Terminal Pilotage Operations Division is responsible for providing professional pilotage service, vessel traffic management system and technical support services at all Saudi Aramco Oil Ports and Terminals in accordance with international shipping industry best practices.

Your primary role is to ensure that all safe practices are exercised and maintained on board vessels calling Saudi Aramco terminals and facilities, by carrying out top class vetting, inspections, audits, correspondences and marine assistance claims.

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

Provide marine engineering technical advice

Analyze and resolve marine engineering and operational problems

Screen tankers through Tanker Vetting System and process ships acceptance requests

Evaluate ships that arrive at Saudi Aramco’s terminals in a deficient condition and recommend acceptance requirement to Terminal Management

Issue protest letters for noted deficiencies or safety violations on board ships

Conduct frequent safety inspections and audits to ensure quality and frequency of safety inspections are maintained

Maintain records of safety inspections and audits

Prepare deficiency telexes to ship’s owners

Prepare claims for exceptional marine services provided to ship’s owners

Conduct incident investigation and prepare reports with recommendations

Review proposed marine crafts designs and provide appropriate recommendations

Conduct ISPS code audit to verify compliance

Ensure Ports and Terminals Management System reliability and communicate timely to resolve system issues

Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architects from a recognized and approved program.

You will have ten years’ experience in marine engineering, including at least five years as a Senior Engineering Officer on board tankers and/or Gas (LPG) carriers.

You must have a valid Chief Engineer Class One Certificate of Competency and you will have the ability to demonstrate knowledge with international marine regulatory body rules and requirements, classification standards and specifications. You will also have to show high level of analytical skills and technical approach to resolve marine engineering and operations problems in several ship related categories.
