Safaniya Offshore Producing Department (SOfPD) is handling the largest offshore oil fields in the world. The Department mission is to be recognized as a leader in offshore producing industry by producing, processing and delivering oil and associated gas as per corporate requirements in safe, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective manners while maintaining the capacity to achieve maximum sustainable production capability. The Department is covering 3 offshore fields, SFNY, ZULF and MRJN. It consists of 6 divisions, 3 operations per field, and 3 support divisions (Line Maintenance, Maintenance Services and Engineering). The Mechanical Engineer is needed for Line Maintenance who is responsible for providing regular maintenance for the equipment in all Safaniya offshore producing plants.
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to execute NW&U and BI-19 projects, Participate in all design package reviews of the project and ensure that constructability comments and concerns are incorporated. Also, lead material procurement, contracting, and construction activities as well as coordinate with Line Maintenance as required for major maintenance, commissioning and cut-over activities.
You will be required to perform the following:
Develop scope of work for equipment repair and major maintenance activities. Perform maintenance engineering optimization and enhancement studies.
Closely monitor and improve Corporate Maintenance KPIs. Take lead in Knowledge Sharing such as delivering technical presentations, arranging workshops, campaigns, writing technical articles highlighting the SOfPD initiatives, etc.
Correct and report any field asset/equipment’s that are not assembled against the correct Function Locations to the concern OME.
Spot check the history entry quality & report the discrepancy to the concern shop Supervisor or Foreman for repeated deficiencies.
Monitor Maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) & generate relevant reports for concerned entities with clear flagging for the concern area & needed corrective action towards achieving the KPI target.
Work as a focal point of contact & administrator for the Planning Group & resolve any related concerns and to work with the group customers & other unit within maintenance to resolve any concerns related to the planning to provide optimum service.
Provide technical guidance to employees assigned to the Engineering.
Evaluate and review safety and work improvement related to engineering and Promote the unit members contribution in all related programs (Safety, innovation & E-learning).
As a successful candidate you
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Have a minimum of 15 years of experience with advanced knowledge in SAP System, planning activities and Rotating Equipment Engineering, obtained through a combination of experience and continuing education. Preferred to have professional engineering certifications.
Have an intensive experience in the area of hydrocarbon process engineering, understanding of rotating equipment and experience in condition monitoring system.
Must be able to interpret and analyze different types of engineering documents, data engineering technical drawing, and drawing associated with machine such as curves.
Have the Knowledge and experience in rotating equipment, their components, and auxiliary systems construction along with their functions including, but not limited to the following (Pumps, Compressors, Gas turbines, power turbine, Gears and gearboxes, Mechanical seals, Bearings Control and protection system of rotating equipment including vibration system, ESD System and Anti surge, Recycle system).
Are familiar with required international Codes and Standards.
