We are seeking a Control System engineer to work under the Northern Area Technical Support Department (NATSD)

NATSD provides engineering support for the Northern Area Oil Operations with specialized engineering and technical knowledge in the areas of varied disciplines to maximize profitability and meeting highest standards of safety and environment.

Key Responsibilities

You are expected to be able to perform the following:

Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system related failures

Adapt quickly to new control systems and third-party vendor equipment throughout the various facilities

Develop process control strategies; write functional and detailed design specifications

Plan strategies to maintain systems and avoid obsolescence

Responsible to providing technical services to Maintenance and Operations Divisions with regard to instrumentations related to the process control and associated auxiliary control system, access’ plant facilities & process arrangements and recommending new installations or modifications to improve plant control performance or replacement of defective or obsolete instrumentations for control equipment systems and subsystems

Serve in a technical lead role on DCS & PLC system implementations

Review design drawings and engineering specifications to produce review comments and perform quality assurance assessments

Communicate with equipment vendors and technical consultants to resolve complex issues concerning new technology, upgrade of equipment, revision to standards and purchase specifications, test procedure and new project designs

Provide mentoring and transfer knowledge, skills and experience to entry level engineers and designers

Adequate experience in one or more process control systems and associated subsystems such as Honeywell TPS, TPN and Experion, Yokogawa Vnet/IP, Foxboro IA, Triconex ESD, ICS Triplex ESD, Bristol Babcock RTUs and Open Enterprise SCADA systems

The candidate must also have project experience from design stage up to construction and commissioning

The candidate must be able to perform Process Automation Networks Security hardening and assessments, develop procedures, meeting international and company standards in Cybersecurity

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate you should hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering

Minimum of 12 years of professional engineering experience effectively performing similar roles and responsibilities, preferably in oil and gas industry or similar process industry

Must be able of solving technical problems of process & control systems engineering in oil and gas operation

Must have a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, international codes, standards and specifications

Must have understanding and ability to interpret and analyze different types of engineering documents and data

Must be capable of developing next-generation Industrial control system platforms and automation solutions.  Knowledge base of the latest developments in oil and gas process engineering technologies through work experience, conferences, seminars and professional journals

Must be familiar with PAN Administration roles and responsibilities as well as ISA-99 familiarity.  All Process Control Networks and Systems certifications will be highly considered as most process control systems are network based and cybersecurity protection is a must

Must possess strong analytical abilities and project management skills
